Chapman Learning Commons, University of British Columbia – Training Video

Production concept: The Chapman Learning Commons is a learning facility based in the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre of the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. Fully staffed by students on the front line, the unit undergoes multiple extensive training sessions each year in accordance with the academic calendar. Student-staff are expected to familiarize themselves with the unit’s myriad procedure – such as facility upkeep, technological equipments and university policies.

This video serves as a visual walkthrough for new student-staff to the unit and aims to equip them with the knowledge of necessary procedures, with links to other internal resources, to successfully run the facility.

This video is an exhibition of the unit’s assets and services, with a focus on the unit’s mission of providing access to “advanced technologies, collaborative work areas, workshop space and learning support.”
